From the hands of the deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Thomas Strobl BAI Sonderfahrzeuge GmbH was award as a “Volunteer-Friendly Employer in Civil Protection”. The award ceremony took place on 18th of October 2023, in the Alfred Kärcher Auditorium in Winnenden. The award is given annually to companies in Baden-Württemberg, which have been supporting their employees in the exercise of voluntary work in civil protection for many years. The managing director and owner of the companies BAI SRL and BAI Sonderfahrzeuge GmbH, Mr. Flavio Gandolfi, came especially from Italy to accept the award together with the local office and sales manager, Mr. Marco Abrecht, from the hands of the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Thomas Strobl.

The day after the award was presented, the First Mayor of the City of Pforzheim, Mr. Dirk Büscher and the chief of the Pforzheim fire department, Mr. Sebastian Fischer, insisted on paying an official visit to the company BAI Sonderfahrzeuge GmbH at the company's location in Pforzheim-Huchenfeld.

The reason for the award as a “volunteer-friendly employer in civil protection” is the fact that the fire station in Huchenfeld as a department of the Pforzheim fire brigade always include employees of the company BAI Sonderfahrzeuge GmbH, whose voluntary work is only possible thanks to the company’s generous exemption. The BAI company would like to sincerely thank the Pforzheim fire department for the proposal for the award as a “Volunteer-friendly employer in civil protection”.
