Company History

BAI was established in December 1991 as a Private and Limited Liability company and has become, during the years, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of fire fighting and rescue trucks.

In 2004 the company became one of the leading brands of Oshkosh Corporation a company of market leaders in Access Equipment, Defense vehicles, Commercial and Fire & Emergency trucks, whose brands are valued worldwide where high quality, superior performance, rugged reliability and long-term value are paramount.

Early in 2009, a new manufacturing & service plant became operational in Germany. The Oshkosh – BAI Deutschland subsidiary is based in Limburg and its production is exclusively dedicated to the German market. This makes possible to focus on the German market only, to constantly meet customers’ requirements and be always ready to translate them into innovative technical solutions.

In October 2009, the original owners concluded the buyout of the 75% of BAI and BAI Sonderfahrzeuge shares, sold in 2004 to Oshkosh Corporation.
