HOSE LAYER: WHEN WATER SOURCE IS DISTANT FROM THE FIREGROUND
The BAI special vehicle model “HCV – Hose Carrier Vehicle or Hose Layer” carries large-capacities high-pressure hose wagons (up to a maximum of 2000 m hose with 100 mm diameter) to incidents where hydrants or other water source are not close enough to the fireground (maximum distance 500m with 4 water lines or 2000m with 1 water line).
It will lay out its hose at the nearest hydrant or water source then drive to the fireground with the hose laying off the back. Upon arrival it will connect to a fire appliance to supply it with the water needed for the firefighting operations.
