FOREST and RURAL PROTECTION: WILDLAND FIRE APPLIANCES

Wildlands firefighting requires unique vehicles that can climb mountain roads and hills, be self-reliant an have high clearances for wheels and suspension. Wildland fire apparatus may have lower capacities to carry water but can be deployed to fight fires in environments whre urban fire trucks would be unable to operate due to rugged terrain.

The need for top off-road performance, manoeuvrability, ability to climb, small dimensions and low weight, rule out the carrying of large amounts of extinguishing agents.

High, or extra high-pressure systems assure an outstanding extinguishing capacity, the maximum throw distances as well as an optimum use of water.
